Pattern Trade

Hello.
Thank you for your reply. The "Pretty Clothes Patterns" were made as
doll sized patterns for Felicity, Kirsten, Samantha, Addy, Josefina,
and Molly. Each pattern portfolio included a selection, but not all of
the the dresses in the dolls collection.
The group of women I refered to in my last email has asked me to serve
as a representative to you in getting the non-commercial use
permission granted. We have a couple suggestions of how this might
happen. The group I am a part of is called the American Girl Fan
Message Board, which can be found at
http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ult...=forum&f=2155.

Our first suggestion is that American Girl could grant permission for
members of the AGFMB to swap Pretty Clothes Patterns,
non-commercially, and for non-commercial use, during a limited time
period (perhaps 1 month after the permission is granted- which would
give us enough time to copy and mail). That way the permission covers
the entire group, but is not means open ended.
The second suggestion is that you grant permission for each of the
following members to swap, non-commercially and for non-commercial
use, to other members of this list. If you prefer, we would also
accept a timeline to complete the swap in. ?This is probably the most
desirable compromise on granting a broad enough permission for us to
be able to trade, and yet to make sure it is not open ended for AG.
The list provides the alias the person posts on at AGFMB, their real
name (when available), their email address (when available), and for
which dolls they have patterns to trade.

My third suggestion is that you grant permission for the following
trades to take place. This is the least preferable for us, because if
for some reason one member becomes unreachable, we don't have
permission to substitue for who trades the pattern. (And then we would
have to email again!) The people in this list are the same as the list
above, but only named by alias.
Cmd210 sends Felicity patterns to Skittl1321 and Calyndra..
AsianAG sends Kirsten patterns to Lordofthepumpkinpatch.
Skittl1321 sends Kirsten patterns to Caroloto and Stacird.
Bethmn sends Samantha patterns to Cmd210
Stacird sends Molly patterns to Skittl1321.
Carolinapooh sends Samantha patterns to Jeanette M.
Geneobug sends Molly patterns to Caroloto and Lordofthepumpkinpatch.
Linda L sends Kirsten patterns to Calyndra.
Linda L sends Molly patterns to CMD210
Miki sends Addy patterns to Stacird, Jeanette, Skittl1321, Geneobug, Linda L.
Lordofthepumpkin patch sends patterns to Miki, AsianAG, Bethmn,
Cmd210, LindaL, Geneobug, Skittl1321, Jeanette M, and Stacird.

Just to clarify when I say a non-commercial swap, I mean that members
may not charge the members they are trading with for the copies, but
can recover the price of postage and copying. When I say
non-commercial use, I mean that members agree not to sell anything
made from the patterns but can create dresses for personal use and
gifts. If this is not agreeable to you, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your consideration in this matter, we would
really love to be able to trade these patterns since they are out of
print, however, we would like to be able to do it legally. As the name
of our message board implies, we are avid fans, and most of us have
huge collections and have been loyal customers of American Girl for
years.


Edit to add: WOO! Glad this is done! Making the lists of who gets what so everyone gets what they want, but no one has to do all the coping (sorry Miki_ and Lordof... I sent you guys PMS)
For those looking at how I decided to pair people, I tried to make it so everyone did as few copies as possible, and copied the same pattern (I figured that would be easier than copying different patterns) when possible. I hope that's okay rather than a I send you one, you send me one swap. Of course, it all depends on AG.
